Oslo Alabaster Pendant Light
Oslo Alabaster Pendant Light
The Oslo Alabaster Pendant Light suspends a solid ring of natural alabaster from three faux-leather straps, each one cradling the stone from underneath and looping back up to a brushed brass ceiling plate. Nothing clamps or bolts through the ring — it rests in the straps the way a saddle sits on a horse, held by the geometry rather than by hardware.
The ring itself is turned with a rounded, torus profile rather than a flat band, so light escapes along a continuous curved surface and the stone reads as one uninterrupted glow with no bright spot anywhere on it. Stitched edges and small brass rivets run the length of each strap, visible at arm's length and part of why the fixture holds up in a room where people sit close to it. Because every ring is cut from natural alabaster, the grey and amber drift running through it belongs to that piece alone.
Why This One
A Ring of Stone, Carried in Straps
Held in Straps, Not Bolted
Three stitched straps loop under the ring and carry it from below — no bracket biting into the stone, no screw driven through it. The load sits where alabaster is strongest, and the fixture reads as one object rather than parts fastened together.
A Rounded Ring, Not a Flat Band
The stone is turned to a full rounded profile all the way around, so light leaves along a continuous curved surface instead of a flat edge. From any angle in the room there is no hard line where the glow stops and the stone begins.
Alabaster's Warm, Even Glow
Light travels through the stone rather than off it, so the ring never develops a bright spot. What reaches the room is soft and honey-toned, deepening where the stone runs thick and lifting where the section narrows.
Stitching and Rivets, Left in View
Each strap carries a visible seam down its length and small brass rivets at every fixing point. These are the details you notice from a dining chair rather than from across the room — and the reason the suspension reads as considered rather than merely functional.

Before you install: Hardwired for indoor dry locations, and we recommend a licensed electrician. A solid alabaster ring carries real weight, so confirm your ceiling box is rated for it before mounting — the larger diameters may need bracing above the ceiling. Support the ring while the straps are being fixed, and handle it by the stone rather than the straps.

Sizing tip: Over a dining table, choose a diameter roughly 12″ less than the table width. The two ring depths hang at the same height and suit the same rooms — the 3.9″ ring simply has more stone in section, so it reads heavier and glows across a broader band. Choose the slim 3.1″ ring where you want the fixture to stay light against the ceiling, and the deep 3.9″ where it should hold the room on its own.

Two Fixtures in One
Quiet Stone by Day, a Ring of Light by Night
Alabaster is one of the few materials that changes character when you switch it on. Because this ring is solid stone with a rounded profile all the way round, the change runs the entire circumference at once — there is no lit face and unlit back.
Switched Off
A Carved Ring, Nothing More
Unlit, the ring reads as pale carved stone with faint grey drift running through it, and the straps become the strongest visual element — warm brown against cool white. By daylight the whole thing behaves like a sculpture suspended from the ceiling rather than a light fitting.
Switched On
Honey-Gold, All the Way Round
Lit, the stone warms to honey-gold and the drift that was almost invisible draws itself around the circumference. Because the section is rounded rather than flat, the glow has no hard edge anywhere — and from beneath there is no source to look into, only lit stone.
The honey tone is built in. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to buy and no chance of fitting the wrong colour temperature — a cool-white source would turn this stone grey rather than gold, and that is the single most common way an alabaster fixture disappoints. Pair it with a TRIAC wall dimmer and the warmth comes further forward as the level drops.
How It Hangs
Three Straps, One Ring of Stone
The alabaster ring is cradled from below by three stitched straps, each looping under the stone and back up to a single brass ceiling plate. The straps are made to a fixed length, so measure your ceiling before ordering.

Where to Hang It
Above a Dining Table
The ring reads well from every seat because there is no visible source to look into — light comes off the stone itself. Choose a diameter roughly 12″ less than the table width.
Base of the ring 30–36″ above the tabletop
Over a Kitchen Island
A single ring covers an island that would otherwise need two or three pendants, and it keeps the sightline across the counter open rather than breaking it into segments.
30–36″ above the countertop
In an Entryway or Foyer
Centre it in the space rather than over the door, and check the ring sits clear of the door swing. The larger diameters suit a double-height entry, where the straps read as part of the composition from below.
7 ft clearance from the floor
In a Bedroom or Living Room
Centre it on the bed or the seating group rather than the room, so the ring reads square from the doorway. Pair it with a TRIAC dimmer here — alabaster at a low level is where the material is at its best.
Above standing eye level, clear of walkways
Before you install: Hardwired, for indoor dry locations, and we recommend a licensed electrician. The straps are a fixed length and cannot be shortened or extended on site — measure from your ceiling to where you want the ring, and tell us before we build it. A solid alabaster ring also carries real weight, so confirm your ceiling box is rated for it, and the larger diameters may need bracing above the ceiling. Support the ring while the straps are being fixed, and handle it by the stone rather than by the straps.
